What are the classes of maple syrup?

There are four classes of maple syrup:
Golden, Delicate Taste
Amber, Rich Taste
Dark, Robust Taste
Very Dark, Strong Taste

What is the difference between grade A and grade B syrup?

Accepted Answer

There are two grades of maple syrup: Grade A and Processing Grade.  Only Grade A maple syrup is sold in stores. It meets the following  requirements:
Free of fermentation
Uniform in colour
Free of sediment
No cloudiness or turbidity
Maple flavour characteristic of its colour class
No objectionable odour or taste
Obtained by no other method than concentrating maple sap.

Is maple syrup just for pancakes?

Definitely not! On our website, you'll find lots of different ways to use maple syrup and pure maple goods such as maple butter, maple jelly and maple sugar. Maple syrup is a healthier sugar loaded with lots of minerals. It is very easy to cook or bake with maple syrup or maple products. Visit our recipes here!

Can we visit your farm to learn about the maple syrup process?

While we love talking about maple syrup and maple production, unfortunately we do not offer tours of our farm at this time. Our harvest season is a very busy time! We prioritize safe farm operation and production quality so we are unable to offer tours of our farm. Our shop remains closed for in-person shopping. You can always order online for farm shop pickup or shop with one of our many retailers across Ontario!

Definitely! We specialize in creating custom labels for our delicious Pure Muskoka Maple Syrup. We are proud of the quality of our syrup and we would love to work with you to create a custom bottle that you can gift to your clients, staff or at your event. We have closed our farm shop for in-person shopping in 2026. You may still order online for farm shop pickup or you can shop with one of our many retailers across Ontario. In the summer, you can find us at the Rosseau Farmers Market!
